Top Fun Exercises To Do With Your Dog

The words ‘exercise’ and ‘fun’ don’t often fit together, but for our furry four-legged friends, exercise is what makes them happy. Simply walking your dog can be tedious, but luckily there are many fun and easy ways to make sure you and your dog gets the exercise they need.

AB Dog Training work with all breeds of dogs, regardless of the size or age, and we can offer professional advice on how to keep your exercises fun and safe.

Go On A Hike

If you’re an adventurer, you will live taking a hike with your dog. Before you go, remember to check the route beforehand to make sure it is safe, and you can both manage. Keep an eye on the weather, plan plenty of water breaks and make sure your dog has enough energy for the whole journey.

Go To The Park

Dogs love the park. When you get to the park, you can let your dog off its lead and toss a ball around. This is very beneficial for younger dogs that have lots of enthusiasm and energy.

The park is paradise to dogs. It gives them the opportunity to make new friends but do be cautious. Some large dogs can act predatory towards smaller dogs which can be dangerous. Slowly introduce your dog to others to avoid potential incidents.

Go Jogging

Not all dogs are built to go for a jog. Some are good at short distance sprinting but can tire easily during long-distance runs. If your dog is suited to distance running, find a dog friendly track and get going.

Remember that dogs don’t sweat like us humans, so avoid hot temperatures and remember to bring water and a collapsible bowl so your dog can rehydrate.
